Funds are still available for the Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAP).
This is a sister program of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
The winter months (heating season) is coming to an end, and staff is trying to use remaining funds before March 31.
Income-eligible clients, 60 years and older, are able to receive assistance once per season. There are two seasons in the year: the Cooling Season which runs April 1 to September 30 and a Heating Season which runs Oct. 1 to March 31.
There must be a delinquent or disconnect notice for electric service. Proof of income will be required for anyone in the home 18 years and older. Gross income for one-person household is $1,396.25 a month or less; $1,891.25 or less for a two-person household; and $2,386.25 or less for a three-person household.
